Laser Tattoo Removal
Laser tattoo removal works by using high-intensity pulses of light to break down the ink particles in the skin. The laser emits short bursts of energy that are absorbed by the tattoo pigment, causing it to break down into smaller particles. These smaller particles are then gradually eliminated by the body’s immune system over time.
During the treatment, the laser selectively targets the tattoo ink without damaging the surrounding skin. The type of laser used in the process depends on the colors of the tattoo pigments. Different pigments absorb different wavelengths of light, so multiple laser wavelengths may be used to effectively target and treat various colors of tattoo ink.
The number of laser tattoo removal sessions needed vary depending on factors such as the size, color, density, and age of the tattoo. Generally, several sessions are required to achieve satisfactory results. It’s important to note that laser tattoo removal can cause some discomfort, often described as a rubber band snapping against the skin. To minimize potential pain and discomfort, we use the Zimmer Cryo 6. It utilizes cryotherapy, a method of applying cold temperatures to reduce inflammation and swelling. This cooling effect minimizes pain and reduces the risk of damage to the skin while increasing the effectiveness of the laser in treating tattoos.
